Mike retired from Shell Aviation in December 2013 having been Global Fuel Technical and Quality Manager responsible for quality assurance, specifications, fuel development and environmental issues since 1992.

During those 21 years, he led the JIG Product Quality Group and contributed to most of the key industry technical groups. He has received an award from IATA for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Aviation Industry’ and was voted ‘Jet Fuel Person of the Year’ in the 2014 Armbrust Survey.
